1. Self-medicating is never a wise thing to do
Some women have little bit shy to discuss about this with others. If they have any people they will start self-medicating. It is always harmful to health. It is better to consult experts on the matter and the experts say that whenever you encounter a problem in your northern region, however insignificant it may seem, always consult a gynecologist. Forget about over the counter vaginal creams or suppositories for yeast infections, and definitely forget about natural remedies you read online.
2. Wearing Tight Underwear
Underwear should fit comfortably always and never be too tight. Tight underwear will be cause to chafing of the skin and vaginal irritation. With time, it can even cause ingrown hairs, which can be very painful and difficult to treat.
On top of that, tight underwear puts you at an increased risk of yeast infections because it allows for heat and moisture to build up in your vaginal area, which creates an ideal setting for bacteria to grow.
It is always recommended to wear properly fitting underwear and make sure you choose those made of breathable fabrics, such as cotton. Non-breathable and synthetic fabrics, such as polyester and lace, can irritate your vaginal area and even put you at risk for developing yeast and bacterial infections.
3.Inserting UFOs (Unsanitary Foreign Objects)
If you’re sexually active I believe you have a pretty good idea what goes in your vagina and what doesn’t. You’re allowed to insert tampons, fingers, sex toys, a penis, lube, birth control, menstrual cups—and nothing more. Leave the experiments for some other area of your body and leave your vagina alone. It may seem like cucumbers, bananas and that phallic-looking device in your kitchen could fit just right in, but no matter how much you disinfect it they can still do so much damage. Stay clear of unsanitary foreign objects and stick to the basics.
4. Don’t Use a Pad for Too Long
Maintaining hygiene during menstruation is very important, and you must change your pad frequently.
The pH value of menstrual blood is higher than healthy vaginal pH value. The longer you use the same pad, the greater is the risk of vaginal infection.Some people will feel shy when they have went outside to change pad. In fact, many women experience an increased rate of vaginal infections during menstruation. It can even cause toxic shock syndrome, a life-threatening condition caused by certain types of bacterial infections.
Change your pad frequently, at least every 4 to 8 hours. Don’t use pads for longer than necessary and change them as often as you need to feel comfortable and clean. Also, avoid using them after your menstruation is over, as it can lead to skin irritation.
